The hotel is indeed charming, the terraces offer an extraordinary view (it also depends on the balloons flying above Goreme and on the weather), the staff is exactly what you have in mind when thinking about the Turkish hospitality (we got the chance to talk more to Mirac, who is very friendly) & the salty/sweet pancakes made by a Lady each morning are simply delicious and were my favourite part of breakfast. I heartily recommend it!

Fantastic location, can easily walk to the downtown area and to the open air museum. The cave rooms were huge, clean, with a comfortable bed, warm shower, and plenty of seating. The views were amazing, with many options to sit around the property. The restaurant for dinner was fairly priced with many options and I enjoyed the daily Turkish breakfast. The staff is also helpful with restaurant recommendations, tours, airport transfer, and any other things you could need.

We enjoyed our short stay in Goreme and it was a good central point to visit the surrounding area from. However, we were unable to participate in a balloon flight which was the sole purpose of or trip. Would advise travelling to this area during peak season when there is less chance of the flights being cancelled due to weather conditions. Goreme has plenty of shops and restaurants and bars to visit. We also got to see the Whirling dervish Ceremony which was a great experiece.

We really enjoyed Goreme Cappadocia and all the surrounding...
We really enjoyed Goreme Cappadocia and all the surrounding area, there is so much to see and do.the scenery is very unique and has ancient Christian cave churches hollowed out of tufa , fairy chimneys, underground cities ( from the past to hide from invaders) hoodoos similar but differ from those in Utah.there is a lot of wide open feilds and farmland and lots of sheep and horses.the driving here was very easy and it's a wonderful place to explore with a rental car,and check out the small towns.the hot air balloon ride was incredible and not scary at all,and if booking the best prices are through the hotel.we made a mistake of booking through Get your Guide and paid much much more than what was offered locally and if the price drops the hotel discounts the ticket are per price drop.quite amazingly the locals do not seem burned out from tourists and are very kind and welcoming.Highly recommend this area for vacation,we stayed 4 days but would have preferred a week and would have definitely done another balloon ride! We had to settle instead for viewing them passing over the hotel very low before 5 am which was a sight to behold as they are lit up in the half darkness!

A magical town and must see!
A magical town and must see! Walk the town (leave your heels at home), visit the various rooftop bars and restaurants. Take a hot air balloon ride - we used Butterfly Balloons and it was great. Maybe slightly more expensive, but they limit numbers to 16 people per basket (others take up to 20) and you have plenty of time in the sky (at least an hour). Best sunset views - Kaira Rooftop Bar & Restaurant - live music, great cocktail selection, friendly staff. Visit the underground cities, fairy chimneys and other historical sites nearby - a guide for information purposes is definitely recommended. We booked a private tour guide for the day. Hike the various valleys, they are magical. We stayed for two nights, three full days. We definitely could have spent another night.

Must do:
Must do:
Balloon flight - very early start - around 04:30am, depending on time of year, but amazing aerial view over the whole of the area.
ATV quadbike tour - best way to see many of the most famous sites and great fun going off road - you can have your own bike or share with a friend but must be over 18 to drive.
Open air museum at Goreme - lots of caves and churches with well planned and paved routes and stairs - can be busy but if you go the opposite way to groups, then it's much nicer and quieter!
Underground Cities: Derinkuyu and Kaymakli both worth a visit and less than an hour drive from Goreme. Fascinating to see how they lived underground and the pasageways are twisting and turning through only a small part of the cities themselves.
Visit the valleys and explore as much as you can - the scenery changes throughout the day as the light changes and there are plenty of footpaths to follow, if you have the time.
Wish we could have visited Ilhara valley and Love valley as well, but ran out of time and energy!
The restaurants and hotels in Goreme are expensive but the area is unique and you could stay in Nevsehir if you wanted a cheaper more cosmopolitan option as it is the biggest city nearby but we chose to have the views and the atmosphere as its a trip we have been planning for many years!

It's a very unique place for a once in a lifetime experience. We did some horeriding with sunrise, watched the balloons, explored the city and did beautiful hikes in the valleys that surround Goreme. The hikes we totally recommend, you escape the big group of tourism and you can just enjoy the beautiful nature.
With half a week, say 4 days, you can see the most. We were there for a week, that was a bit too long, but we could take it slow which was perfectly fine for us. Be aware of sleeping not that much a night, because if you want to see the sunrise you have to wake up at 4:30. Goreme is a living town with lots going on, so don't come here only to rest. You can expect lots of tourists in this area.
We ate multiple times at A la Mode Restaurant & LaLinda Brasserie, this were our favorites because of the varieties in the menu.

Göreme, a great place with lots of choices, offering a vast array of restaurants and cafés. Its walkability to the Open-Air Museum and numerous trails of various levels of difficultly provide ample opportunities to explore. The is also many opportunities to rest at charming stops along the way and have a snack of cup of tea.
Seven Rocks is the perfect place to spend a few days in Goreme. a great central location just off the main street. Super staff, very helpful and polite. an extra bonus in the swimming pool, especially if you are spending more than a couple of days in Cappadocia. The real advantage of this hotel is the abundant space around the pool and outside each room - a covered veranda with lovley Turkish rug cushions to relax on. Great breakfast, typical Turkish breakfast of cold mezes. I could comfortqably spend a week at this hotel.
The staff at this hotel were very nice and helpful with good English and connections all around town for various services. It is hard to compare it to other hotels because we have never slept in a cave hotel! The shower pressure was excellent. The view was incredible and there was no need to take a trip to the tall vantage point in Cappadocia to see the balloons at sunrise. They came so close to the hotel that you could hear them firing up and clearly see the passengers. Any closer would have been downright dangerous.
Our stay at Castle Cave Hotel was awesome. The friendly staff helped us with everything we needed, like booking a balloon flight, renting a car etc. Our cave room was fantastic, with a small balcony offering a great view over Göreme. The breakfast buffet was authentic and tasty. The hotel is perfectly located near the sunset point and also within a short distance from great restaurants. A big thank you once again to Mustafa and his staff for making our stay very easy and enjoyable. We would highly recommend staying here!
We stayed for 2 days in karadut Cave hotel at the center of Goreme, surrounded with a lot of restaurants and coffee shops.a little walk you will find souvenir shops and grocery store, bus stop, very convenient location

Highly Recommended, looking forwArd to be back soon.
Excellent. Pleasant facility. Great location(nicely situated in town and walking distance to Göreme Open Air Museum). Great breakfast by the most competent breakfast lady I’ve ever met. And most importantly, the owner Murat takes exquisite care over everything. Definitely book all your activities through him. I would recommend the Güzide Cave Hotel to anyone, independent if price was no object whatsoever or you want the very best value. What more can I say. I don’t usually leave reviews.
Super central, 2 steps away from each point of interest un Cappadocia, amazing view. The manager was very helpful in booking everything I needed, from airport transportation, to balloon flight, tours, restaurant recommendations. Also they have an amazing steak restaurant, Oscar Steak House. Not to mention that I’ve got an upgrade to a suite as soon as I arrived, and it was just exceptional. Even though outside were like - 7 the suite was super war and yes it’s a cave hotel.
The thoughtfully renovated Aydinli Cave Hotel is the perfect blend of cave dwelling charm and modern comfort. In addition to starting your day off right, the top-story breakfast room and patio offers a spectacular view of Goreme and the surrounding area. The hotel management and staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful as it made every effort to ensure every guest enjoyed their time in Cappadocia.
Stayed at Sato with my parents and we really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Hünkar was super fast and responsive over email and helpful in-person. We booked different activities through Sato and had a lot of fun in Cappadocia. Everyone else was also super nice and helpful and breakfast was amazing too. The hotel has central location and it's an easy walk to Goreme's best restaurants. Highly recommend Sato

Unpredictable weather, it is..We expected first snow fall in Cappadocia today. It was a wonderful experience.. though it was a light one, some of the areas are coved with snow..well, it is iterally everywhere!
The staff at Zara Cave Hotel were very friendly and helpful when it came to booking tours and activities. The views were stunning and we were close to the centre which was great as we didn't have to walk far for gift shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend for anyone who wishes to experience staying at a cave hotel in Cappadocia.
Location was great. It is middle of the Goreme downtown. They have a small balcony by entrance. You could wake up early morning and watch balloons in the sky.
Hotel is a cave hotel, rooms are designed based on that. Do not expect 5 star hotel comfort, but we enjoyed our 2 nights stay. They have also a very rich breakfast option.
Amazing Cave Hotel in Goreme. Lovely views and a short walk to main street with the shops. My room was spacious and when I was in my room I got the feeling I was in a Cave Hotel. The Hotel facilities were also great - lovely Turkish breakfast and plenty of outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful Cave hotel, spacious rooms. The view from the breakfast area is exceptional. Great food option. Great location, walking distance to town. We saw the Hot Air Balloon from our rooftop, just amazing! The manager Nala was so helpful. Be prepared for a lot of steps in Goreme.
