We only spent a few hours in Bonifacio itself but that was sufficient. The citadel is stunning, perched on the clifftops, but is best seen from outside if honest. We did not take a boat trip as they seemed excessively expensive and we were disappointed by the high cost of parking. But if you drive 5 minutes outside of the town, heading west, there is free parking on the road with a stunning walk across the cliffs to the town and citadel. This is, in fact, the best way to see the gravity defying town, balanced precariously on the edge of the cliffs.

The citadel and its surrounds gave plenty of exploration and shopping options. The port is also lovely to get boat trips, food and shop. There was plenty of choice of eating out places in both areas and two little basic supermarkets in the citadel and a large one at the port. The whole place is easy to get around but if you are not good at walking up and down stairs or slopes you can get the petit train at 6 euros a pop from the port to the citadel and back - All the group boat trips were fabulous with three price options to choose from 18 to 37 euro. I was there in early October and the weather was perfect in mid 20’s - still a lot of tourists around so quite busy but not totally seething. I don’t think I would go in high season.
I had a memorable week all round. Loved it and stayed 3 extra days. It does help if you have a little French as not much is translated to English.

The views and hikes are magnificent here.
The views and hikes are magnificent here. I would not want to come with kids or babies, as the omnipresent cobblestones, stairs and huge hills make for difficult transportation of little feet or strollers. It's not such a beach town, as the beach in the city was closed due to falling rocks and the next one nearby was a 5K hike through rocky conditions and sun (with unparalleled views of the sea cliffs). It's a good basis for beaches however, if you have a car and leave in the morning.

Bonifacio is probably the most beautiful city in Corsica.
Bonifacio is probably the most beautiful city in Corsica. Old town is very well preserved and less crowded vs others. Nature is amazing, incredible beaches and the views are just breathtaking. Plus, you can easily go for a day trip to Sardinia, so it's like having a 2in1 location.
FOOD: highly recommend L'Archivolto (local cuisine), but you need a reservation or come around 9 and wait until a table gets free. Also try Ciccio and La Cabane du Pecheur.

Citadella is beatiful, but the amount of people inside was not controlled. Too many people and the safety distance was not working (Corona). Wearing mask was not a must , Too many small shops for tourists. It worth going there, but information in advance is advisable,

I have been staying here for 12 days and was travelling around by car. Assume Bonifacio is just a perfect location to discover the South of Corsica and it may give additional benefits at warm season in terms of sea. I have enjoyed it's quietness and sites in winter. It was just a little tricky to find a meal. The town itself and the surroundings may be covered in 2-3 days. In case some spare time is left, Sardinia is very easy to reach.
The Corsica location was very lovely!
Parking worked out just across the street, but the front desk receptionist needs to press the button.
The room was fine and the bathroom was huge! The Restaurant food was good and there were a lot of nice shops by the water!
The La Bastion family restaurant at the top of the steep stairs was wonderful.
We rented a BMW that we brought across from Sardinia on the ferry. It was tough to drive around the very narrow streets of Bonifacio.
Big ➕ : Very nice staff and a big parking lot in front of the hotel.
Hotel is easily reached by car to Bonifacio which is an awesome city, but if you dont want to bother with a lot of cars and pay the parking there every day, you can go for a walk of approx. 45min on foot to Bonifacio port. The walking route is not suitable for strollers or kids at all, there is a very rough path in the last kilometer so use your car if you go with kids or older people.
We have been traveling around Corsica and this was the best apartment we've been in. Super clean, modern, air conditioned, everything was in pristine condition. The bathroom and shower was amazing with additional dryer and washing machine. Location is unbeatable, right in front of marina with an amazing view! We had zero complaints about this place and recommend it to everybody.
Lovely hotel in the harbour of Bonifacio with the prefect view on the marina and the citadel. We had a suite with two balconies which was lovely. The staff was extremely nice and it felt like almost be at home. They also have a lovely pool at the back. Close to all restaurants on the otherside of the harbour. 5 min walk,
The hotel is perfectly located. Its a short 10 min walk to the citadelle, and the steps of Aragon literally 5 mins away. The balcony sea view rooms have the most spectacular view of the famous Bonifacio cliffs and the staff is incredibly courteous. We highly highly recommend the place. PS: It also has its own parking.
Beautiful location at the top of the hill in Bonifacio. Excellent breakfast, clean and beautiful historical building. Easy walking into the main Bonifacio town and port for the days we were there. The drive up to the hotel gets very busy in the day, so it is best to plan on walking while you are there.
Very nice hotel at 5 minutes walk from the beautiful harbour in Bonifacio. We arrived much to early but the staff quickly arranged a nice room for us. Nicely decorated rooms with balcony. Good breakfast with a lot to choose from. Free car parking. Great stay for a weekend at Bonifacio.
Great location on the 4th floor of an apartment block on the north quay of Bonifacio harbour, with a panoramic view of the harbour and the ancient bastion containing the old city, which towers above the harbour and is illuminated purple at night!
The beautiful property with lovely stone walkways lined with Mediterranean vegetation like olive trees and pomegranate trees. Just a short drive into Bonifacio. They also have electric car charging stations.
Amazing heated pools!
Exceptional view, location close to Bonifaccio, superbe suite with private swimming pool, and outdoor privative shower under starry sky, well-maintained gardens in hotel, natural and friendly staffs, pet friendly place
Beautiful view, very kind hosts, excellent breakfast (we took the "small" version which by my standards was not small!). The kitchen was very well equipped. Very close to Bonifacio where we went for lunch and dinner.
Perfect location on the marina.
With a quiet bedroom and a perfect shower meeting international standards.
Supermarket on the left of the hotel, and plenty of cafés & restaurants long the marina.
Marina at the desk was wonderful! Gave us excellent restaurant options and was quick to help us with any and all questions that we had. if i owned a hotel, I would want her working for me!!
Stunning location! So peaceful. The facilities were fantastic and we had access to the other hotel’s facilities which was a real plus. All was included in the price which was great.
A very nice quit place just neat Bonifacio. Very fine swimming pool and luxury room. Nice staff , friendly people. Rooms give you a maximum of privateness in a luxury surrounding.
